Origin of the essential oils and spices

Our knowledge of the area and the professionalism of our purchasers allows us to obtain essential oils and spices from manufacturers selected for the quality and the constancy of their production.

Madagascar is a climatic paradise for all vegetation where the majority of plants grow to profusion without the need for chemical treatment of any kind.

Harvesting is carried out at the most favorable time in relation to the oil elements to be extracted by distillation. The plant develops different components as it matures and it is important that the crop be harvested at the correct period.

These rules, imposed by nature, explain the seasonality of certain products which might be missing from our catalogue at certain times of the year.

Quality products

We make sure that all our essential oils are distilled exclusively by water vapor from spices, flowers, leaves, bark, shoots fruits or roots collected from a limited number of reputable growers. The growers are situated principally on the east cost of Madagascar and the aim is to guarantee the best and a consistent quality for our products.

AromImport does not sell essential oils obtained or distilled with chemical solvents because this renders them unsuitable for therapeutic or medical use.

We filter every batch of essential oil before carrying out a chromatic analysis.

The original number of every batch is kept to ensure complete traceability of our products.

Bottling and labelling

Our essential oils are bottled by us and kept in our stores in Madagascar.

The labels of our products specify:

• The Latin and French name.
• The botanical variety (eucalyptus globulus, eucalyptus radie, lantana camara…).
• The part of the plant used (the active ingredients can be very different according to the part of the plant: fruit, root, flower, shoot...).
• The country of origin.
• The quantity.

We hold at your disposal the technical analysis (by gas chromatography) carried out in an independent and approved laboratory. Each analysis gives the chemical composition of the batch concerned. On request, we can mail this to you before you order.
